Today, we’re celebrating another milestone for This Email Could Have Been a Knife Fight as it makes its final festival appearance at the Shutter Speed Film Festival.
This screenplay has had quite a journey.
What started as a genuinely terrible day at work became the inspiration for my very first screenplay. After an experience where I felt someone was trying to throw me under the bus through an email, I took all that frustration, anger, and disbelief and put it on the page.
What I didn't expect was for that moment to grow into an entire world of its own.
A bad day became a story. A story became a screenplay.
From Frustration to Film Festivals
And that screenplay went on to travel to festivals, meet incredible filmmakers, and be shared with audiences I never imagined would get to experience it.
Today marks the final festival stop for this screenplay. After Shutter Speed, it's time to put it on the shelf until the right opportunity and funding come along to bring it to life as a film.
And that's okay. Sometimes a project needs to wait for its moment.

I'm incredibly grateful for every festival that accepted my very first screenplay and gave it a place to be seen. Every selection, every opportunity, and every bit of support has meant more than I can put into words. You helped make this first step as a screenwriter an unforgettable experience.

This isn't goodbye to This Email Could Have Been a Knife Fight. It's simply the end of its festival journey for now. Hopefully, one day, we'll get to share the finished film with you.
